What impact do you hope to have at Kilo Lima?
At Kilo Lima, I aim to make a big impact by bringing our social media to life. I want to create content that not only informs but also engages and excites our community. I strive to make Kilo Lima easy to access and understand through our social media platforms. My goal is to build a vibrant online community where people can easily access and discuss information about Canadian Construction Codes. Ultimately, I want to help Kilo Lima become the go-to source for everything related to building regulations, simplifying the complex and improving the industry for everyone.
WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT OUTSIDE THE OFFICE?
I’m someone who loves exploring new activities and never sticks to just one thing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I discovered a deep passion for cooking and baking. With the extra time on our hands, I found joy in creating new dishes and treats. This passion grew not only because I enjoy experimenting in the kitchen but also because I love making people happy by sharing what I create. Another one of my passions is learning new things. Being part of Kilo Lima is a perfect example of this, as it offers me the chance to expand my knowledge every day. Whether it’s learning about building codes or enhancing our social media presence, the constant opportunity to learn and grow is something I truly value.
What are the biggest challenges facing the building code industry today?
Before joining Kilo Lima, I had never even heard of building codes and didn’t realize their significance in the industry. From my perspective, one of the biggest challenges in the industry is that building codes don’t always feel approachable or easy to understand. In my opinion, we need a major rebrand to make building codes more engaging and accessible. I believe that if we present them in a more user-friendly way, we could make it easier for everyone to grasp and appreciate their importance.

What project or initiative have you heard about lately that really inspires you?
When asked about a project or initiative that inspires me, I couldn’t help but think about my family. Although it’s not a traditional answer, it feels right to share this. My family is my driving force, the ones who inspire me every day and shape who I am. Their genuine kindness, hard work, and unwavering support continually push me to be the best version of myself. They are the reason I pursue my goals and dreams with passion. So, while it might not fit the usual definition of a project or initiative, their influence is the most inspiring force in my life
