It’s been 9 months since I’ve shared by thoughts via blog….and it feels great to be back at it!
This one will be short and sweet (relative to my other posts). I mostly just want to say I’m really excited with some of the great things I’m seeing when it comes to Code education here in my home province. Here are the Kilo’s Notes of two in particular.

SBOA Fall Conference
Last month I had the pleasure of attending the Saskatchewan Building Officials Association conference. It was a blast. A summary follows:
I recruited my wonderful mom the morning I was leaving to help with last minute items (there was a lot, it took her about 3 hours). I met Harold Orr. I caught up with old friends, and met some new ones. I threw taffy at unsuspecting presentation attendees. I learnt about NFPA 241 (the parts that cover safety for buildings under construction); 241 isn’t actually an adopted standard, but the NBC has extremely limited guidance in [B] Part 8 (unless I’m missing something…if so, let me know!). I set up my first conference booth with Kilo swag, and hung out behind it with my cricut to make on-demand personalized NATO phonetic alphabet initial bevvy jars. Did I mention I got to meet Harold Orr? I was presented with a beautiful gift from SBOA. I directed a post-banquet fashion show. I could keep going, but I won’t.
Long story short, it was great. I’ve really missed in-person events. You can check out more of our adventures on our instagram @kilolimacode
Thanks for reading, and being part of this community. It brings me immense joy to share the above. What I missed about Sask when I was gone was the community vibe here. You really can’t be it.
